Review by hotel critic
Review of Ici Hotel Ueno Shin OkachimachiAs a London-based architect with an appreciation for functional yet aesthetically pleasing spaces, I found Ici Hotel Ueno Shin Okachimachi a commendable choice for our corporate retreat. The hotel's proximity to Shin Okachimachi subway station offered easy access to Tokyo’s attractions, even if it lacked direct JR service. Our rooms, while typically compact for Tokyo, provided ample space for two suitcases and were exceptionally clean. The air conditioning worked well, essential for remote work during warmer days. I appreciated the inclusion of free Wi-Fi, facilitating seamless connection for business tasks. The breakfast setup, though minimal, offered a satisfying selection to start the day. I found the takeout option practical, allowing me to enjoy my meal in the comfort of my room. Staff were courteous and mostly proficient in English. Special mention goes to Ms. Liu and Ms. Inoue for their assistance. This hotel combines convenience and comfort, making it suitable for business travelers seeking a quieter stay in Tokyo.
